Recently, I sat in the bank waiting for my number to be called so that a bank personnel would assist with my issue. In walks an elderly lady- her head of short-cut, curly grey crowning her radiant face. On realizing that all the seats were taken, I motioned to her to accept my seat. As she walked towards me, the widest and most beautiful smile spread across her face. She spoke:
Elderly lady: How yuh duh? Long time ah don't see yuh! I was just talking about you the other day.
Me: (moved by her infectiously warm persona, I returned the joy with outstretched arms and hugged her) I am doing well. What a delight to see you, too!
I motioned her over to the chair and my heart was filled with sheer joy from that simple gesture worth a million boosts in my day.
PS: Should I have told her that she is mistaking me for someone else? Should I have been insensitive to the possibility that at her age, the memory is not what it used to be.
Absolutely not! This beautiful lady brigh

tened my day just as much as I seemed to have brightened hers. The day may come when I, too, cannot remember things. I don't need the world constantly reminding me that I have lost my memory. Make every moment count! Today, I did just that!
